Paul is IFS’s Principal Engineer with over 30 years of experience in fire safety engineering and fire protection design. He holds dual registration as a Fire Safety Engineer and a Mechanical Engineer (fire protection design), enabling him to deliver both performance-based solutions and compliant system designs. 

At IFS, Paul oversees technical direction across projects, providing expert guidance on complex compliance challenges and ensuring designs meet both the National Construction Code and client needs.

Engineering Manager 

John brings over 25 years of engineering and industrial management experience, with a strong background in factory and warehouse operations. At IFS, he leads the engineering team and stays hands-on across projects — from early scoping and technical strategy through to delivery. 

John combines practical know-how with structured project guidance, helping clients and the team navigate complex fire safety requirements with clarity and confidence.

Alyce leads business operations and team development at IFS, drawing on her background in architecture and her passion for cross-disciplinary collaboration. She is responsible for the structure that supports the team — from finance and training to strategy and client communication. 

Her focus is on connecting fire safety with the wider building industry, particularly supporting architects and designers, while ensuring IFS continues to deliver excellence through a cohesive, well-supported team.
