Paul Verheijden is the founder and Principal Fire Safety Engineer at Integrated Fire Services (IFS), with over 30 years of experience in the fire industry. He is registered as both a Fire Safety Engineer and a Mechanical Engineer (fire protection design), giving him a rare ability to deliver both sides of fire compliance under one roof.
Paul began in fire protection design at CSR, working on sprinkler and fire system layouts. When dedicated fire safety expertise was first emerging in Victoria, he became part of the original group of fire safety engineers building on his design background to help shape the profession.
He’s worked across almost every building type, but still has a special connection to factories and warehouses where he first honed his skills. Clients and colleagues often say Paul’s energy is contagious and many leave conversations with him newly inspired about fire safety, some even considering becoming fire engineers themselves.
At IFS, Paul leads with care, collaboration, and integrity always committed to sharing knowledge and making compliance simpler for clients.
